Artist Statement

The animations that I produce are a mixture of two-dimensional and stop motion shorts that examine various elements of modern society.  Through the act of creation, they provide me with the opportunity to ask questions, perform practical and theoretical research, and the time to contemplate the gathered information.  The animations become a vehicle for my voice and opinion.  Generally labeled as social commentaries, my pieces range in topics from religion to the impingement upon individual freedom through social pressures.  Each narrative addresses a shared human experience or emotion.  By dealing in traditional animation methods, I strive for the viewer to experience a sense of familiarity and intimacy, while at the same time feeding my hunger for the handmade aesthetic.  The musical compositions that I create are used to support the concepts and engage the audience.
